We are a large family, how many members can we have in our group, in your studio for one sitting?

This depends on the size of the camera room and the background of your choice. There are three camera rooms in our studio. In general we can fit up to five/six adults comfortable for one pose in a family or group portrait. A family group portrait of 8 is posible, but the choice of background and poses will be slightly limited.

Do you have digital, online, proofs?

Our sales presentation, which is the preview, selection and ordering of your portraits, will be held in our studio approximately one week after your session. This sales presentation is for all our studio and location portrait sessions. The appointment for the sales presentation will be made during the initial consultation meeting when the date is set for your session, or at the time of your session. This will be the date when you select and order your portraits.

After the sales presentation, and after the initial order has been placed, it is optional to have your portraits placed on our online hosting service. This allows, for example, out of state family to view and order your portraits as well.

We don’t have a way to preview online; do you have “printed” proofs?

We do provide previewing your photos in our studio. On special request, and for a small fee, we can provide you with a set of paper printed proofs in the size 4x5 or 4x6. The proofs will be the studio’s property and need to be returned upon delivery of the ordered photos.

Any suggestions how to dress for portraits?

Keep it simple and when possible wear solid colors. Avoid clothing with large patterns and bright colors that will draw the attention away from you. Long sleeves will help in directing focus to your face. For full body shots coordinate clothing all the way, including your shoes.

Scoop or V-neck tops works with short necks and full faces, high-necked clothes or turtlenecks work with long necks and slender faces. For family or group portraits try to keep clothes consistent. Try to have each family or group member dressed in the same style. Do not mix casual and formal clothing. Coordinate your clothing colors with the backdrop color of choice.

Can we bring items to add a touch of personality?

We do have a few props at the studio, but feel free to bring your own to show your personality. Especially for small children, let them bring their own favorite toy. And don't forget, Small pets are welcome, if accompanied by caretaker.

Can we bring along our favorite music?

To make your studio session more relaxed we do have a CD, Radio and iPod docking player in the studio that will play your favorite music. Please bring your own CD or iPod with you, or tune in your favorite radio channel. Internet radio is also aviable, just tell us your favorite station/music.

Do you have a hair and make-up artist at your studio?

At Henrico Photo we do not employ a hair stylist or make-up artist at the studio. We currently have no hair stylist and make-up artist referals. However we welcome your own hair stylist or make-up artist.

What happens after the session?

Digital photos are processed at the studio. Most of the time, in about 3 to 5 business days, depending on the size of your session, you will be able to select the photos. The selected photos may need additional editing. Obviously this will take some additional time. Normal image processing (color correction etc.) is included in all our photos.

Retouching for individual photos is available for a small fee. The edited/retouched photos are usually ready for your online preview in 3 to 5 business days, on a secure website. After you have selected the photos of your choice they can then be purchased. If your session includes retouching of selected photos, or if you request additional photos to be retouched, they will be posted on the secure website after the retouching is completed, for your approval.
