Passport photos are printed at the time of your session.
Your passport photos are printed in the studio and ready while you wait, your session usually takes just 15 minutes for each person, Canadian photos might take slightly longer due to validation requirements.
The photos are printed on a dedicated passport photo printer and confirm to the specifications as required by the various governments.
Passport Photo RVA (Henrico Photo) is recommended by the Royal Dutch Embassy in Washington DC for Dutch passport photos and the Australian Embassy for Australian passport photos.
Digital passport photos are uploaded to a secure cloud storage.
For an additional small fee, you can receive a digital copy of your passport photo. You will receive a printout with the digital copy of your passport photo, with a unique access code. Your photo will be available online for 6 months.
Enter this unique access code in your website browser, and you will be directed to the secured cloud storage for the download of your passport photo to your personal device.

You will receive a printout with a digital copy of your passport photo, with a unique access code. When applying for your UK passport renewal at the GOV.UK website, you will be asked for this unique access code of your passport photo.
Your photo will be available online for 1 month, with the option to delete the photo yourself.
India digital and printed photo package.
For India passport photos I have a special package that contains both the digital and printed passport photo of the same picture taken at my studio. The digital photo will be 630x810 pixels and less than 250 KB.
There are currently different requirements for the printed passport photo dimensions, depending on where the application is handled. As such I include two each of the same photo in both 51x51mm and 35x45mm.
Passport Photo RVA offers all nationalities.
There is no "one size" fit all. As a Dutch citizen living in the USA since 1988, I know first hand how difficult it is to get the correct passport photos and the trouble of going to Washington DC, New York, Miami, Pennsylvania or even further away to visit the embassy or consulate for your in person appointments. Nothing is more annoying than having your photos rejected after a long drive and time consuming appointment setup. This is one of the reasons I started my international passport photo service, aside of my studio family portraiture.
When it comes to passport photo requirements, among all the countries in the world there are many differences like size (both the outside dimension of the photo as well as the head size) and the background, which usually depends on the persons complexion and/or hair color. Sometimes the purpose of the passport photo also calls for a different background color, for example to differentiate citizenship vs immigrations. Most digital passport photos (for online applications) require a much brighter background than printed passport photos. (for drop-off or mail-in applications)
Although the most common outside dimensions are square 51x51 mm (2x2 inch) and rectangle 35x45 mm (1.4x1.8 inch). Quite a few countries have odd sizes, for example as small as 26x32 mm (1x1.25 inch) for Spain, and as big as 100x150 mm (4x5 inch) for Moldavia. When it comes to head sizes, they vary from 75 to 80% of the photo size, or are specified in a specific millimeter range, as well as the placement of the eyes within a specified area of the photo.
No matter for which country or nationality you are looking for, Passport Photo RVA is familiar with the differences and requirements and guarantee your passport photo to be according their unique specification. I have information and samples listed per continent, which will be updated trough time.
Recent updates and changes to government specifications
Recently there have been changes made to the Canadian passport photo specifications. Although the dimensions of the photos are still 50×70 mm (2×2.75 inch), the background in the photo as well as the back side of the printed photo are different. Please do not wear white clothing as it could blend in the background and the photo will be rejected.
Passport photo:
Two identical photos with a light-colored background, one photo with guarantor studio stamp and one without the stamp.
Valid for 6 months.
Citizenship photo:
Two identical photos with a light-colored background, both photos with the studio stamp as well as your first and last name.
Valid for 6 months.
Permanent resident photo:
Two identical photos with a bright white background, both photos with the studio stamp as well as your date of birth and first / last name.
Valid for 12 months.

Note: Canadian permanent resident photo is different than the passport photo.
Currently there are conflicting printed photo dimensions requirements between the embassy of India and VFS Global, while they are updating their passport application process.
They both require a digital photo in the size of 630×810 pixels with a bright white background and with a face size of 80-85% of the photograph.
Note to uploading the digital photo:
It has been reported that there are issues when uploading the digital photo during the online application process. Although the digital photo is less than 250 KB often times there will be an error stating that the image size is larger than 250 KB. This seems to happen with various people under different situations and the suggestion made is to continue uploading the photo a few times, and it will most likely succeed. This upload issue is most likely an error on their website.
As far as the printed photo requirements they list two sizes, Seva 35×45 millimeter and Traditional 51×51 millimeter. It is still not clear which size is required, some people report one of the other and some people suggest providing both sizes in their application, so the issuing office can pick and choose. One thing that is the same in both photo dimensions, is the head size 25-35 millimeter from chin to crown, and it has to be made from the same photo taken as for the digital photo.
For this reason, I provide you with a package containing both two each of both the Seva and Traditional printed sizes (4 photos total) and the digital photo for upload, in one set.
Both the Seva 35×45 mm and Traditional 51×51 mm is still mentioned in official sources. It is important to verify the size required by your agency for submission.
I recommend the following since the India passport photo requirements are currently being updated:
– Always verify your specific application with your agency before your photo appointment.
– Follow the size shown inside your official application portal or appointment confirmation.
– When in doubt, contact your PSK, VFS center, or consulate directly or bring one printed photo of each size.
