Australian photos have to be 35mm to 40mm wide and 45mm to 50mm high. The size of the face from chin to crown can be up to a maximum of 36mm, with a minimum of 32mm. The photos are valid for 6 months.

Glasses are not allowed in passport photos.
If you cannot remove your glasses for medical reasons, the frames can’t obscure your eyes and there can’t be any reflection from the lenses. Note: vision impairment alone is not an acceptable reason to wear glasses in a passport photo.

Australian passport photos are different to US passport photos and can be difficult to obtain in the United States.  Please review the photo requirements and camera operator guidelines, and discuss them with your photographer.  In particular, we suggest that you check your photographer:

• can produce glossy prints that are printed at the highest resolution
• has a dye sublimation printer (no inkjet prints accepted) 
• has studio lighting so that there are no shadows behind your ears/head, and the lighting across your face is even. (Avoid highlighter cosmetics that cause shine on the face.)

Examine your photos carefully to make sure they meet all requirements.  We recommend you check them under a strong magnifying glass to make sure there are no marks, dots, ink spots, scratches, or printing stripes/pixels. 

If your photographer can provide a digital copy of your photo, we recommend keeping a JPEG copy in case your photo has a printing imperfection, is smudged with ink, or is damaged during transit to our office, and requires reprinting

The Canadian passport photos will be confirming the very strict specifications and have my business stamp and date on the back of one photo, as required by the Canadian Government. My signature is no longer required.

The background must be one colour and bright (ideally a neutral
grey colour) and in a contrasting colour to the face and hair. In the case
of light-colored hair, a medium-grey background is suitable whilst a
light-grey background is suitable for dark hair.

As a rule, no head coverings should be worn for photos; the passport
authority may make exceptions for religious reasons. Exceptions to this
and the other requirements may be made in case of a permanent medical
condition. No parts of uniforms should be visible in the photos.

German passport photos are 35 x 45 mm and valid for 6 months.

Please note that it is requested by the German mission in the US to not cut the photos.

Alert on Fake Websites related to Passport Services

It has come to the notice of the Ministry that many fraudulent websites and mobile applications are collecting data from applicants and also levying additional hefty charges for filling up the online application form and scheduling appointment for Passport and related services. Some of these fake website are registered in the domain name *.org, *.in, *.com. such as : www.indiapassport.org, www.online-passportindia.com, www.passportindiaportal.in, www.passport-india.in, www.passport-seva.in, www.applypassport.org

It is therefore advised to all citizens applying for Indian Passport and related services that they should not visit to the above mentioned fraudulent websites or make any kind of payment. The official website of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, for applying Passport services is www.passportindia.gov.in

At PassportPhotoRVA, I provide you with printed Indian passport and visa photos.

Currently there are conflicting printed photo dimensions requirements between the embassy of India and VFS Global, while they are updating their passport application process.

They both require a digital photo in the size of 630×810 pixels with a bright white background and with a face size of 80-85% of the photograph.

Note to uploading the digital photo:
It has been reported that there are issues when uploading the digital photo during the online application process. Although the digital photo is less than 250 KB often times there will be an error stating that the image size is larger than 250 KB. This seems to happen with various people under different situations and the suggestion made is to continue uploading the photo a few times, and it will most likely succeed. This upload issue is most likely an error on their website.

As far as the printed photo requirements they list two sizes, Seva 35×45 millimeter and Traditional 51×51 millimeter. It is still not clear which size is required, some people report one of the other and some people suggest providing both sizes in their application, so the issuing office can pick and choose. One thing that is the same in both photo dimensions, is the head size 25-35 millimeter from chin to crown, and it has to be made from the same photo taken as for the digital photo.

For this reason, I provide you with a package containing both two each of both the Seva and Traditional printed sizes (4 photos total) and the digital photo for upload, in one set.

Both the Seva 35×45 mm and Traditional 51×51 mm is still mentioned in official sources. It is important to verify the size required by your agency for submission.

I recommend the following since the India passport photo requirements are currently being updated:

– Always verify your specific application with your agency before your photo appointment.
– Follow the size shown inside your official application portal or appointment confirmation.
– When in doubt, contact your PSK, VFS center, or consulate directly or bring one printed photo of each size.

The older, Traditional, Passport photos are 35 x 35 mm, 45 x45 mm, 50×50 mm, while visa photos are 35 x 45 mm and 50 x 50 mm. The photos are valid for 6 months. These are no longer in use and will be outpaced in time.

It is informed that VFS Global is the service provider for Passport services for the Embassy of India, Washington DC or its Consulates in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, New York and San Francisco. Its operations have started from 04 November 2020.

Please check with the embassy or service provider which size is required for your specific passport or visa application, so I can provide you with the correct size.

Visa photos

A Schengen visa or UK visa is not valid for travel to Ireland. For exceptions to this, please see the Irish government website.

If you’re a citizen of a non-EEA country, whether you need a visa or not, you will be subject to immigration control when you enter Ireland.

Photos must be 45-50mm in height and 35-38mm in width. They must show a close up of your face and the top of the shoulders. Your face must take up 70% to 80% of the photo.

Please read these instructions as they are strictly enforced by the government of Jamaica:

• Two (2) identical photographs are required.
• Photograph should not be taken more than six (6) months prior to submitting application.
• Photographs should be taken in color with a matte/dull finish, against a plain background.
• Excessive light reflection on the image is unacceptable.
• Applicants of light complexion should avoid wearing white clothing and should have photographs taken against a pastel shaded background.
• Applicants of dark complexion should wear colored clothing and photographs should be taken against a white background.
• Applicants with grey/white hair should have their photograph taken against a pale blue or pastel background.
• There must be no other person or object in the photograph.
• There should be no background shadows.
• A full-frontal pose of head, neck, and top of the shoulder is required.
• There should be no creases or ink marks on the photograph.
• Exposed shoulders and chest must be avoided.
• Bright colored clothing is not recommended.
• Eyeglasses should not have tinted lenses.
• Heavy (thick) frames should be avoided.
• Headgear is permitted ONLY for religious purposes, in which case, Section H of the passport application form must be filled out. Facial features including the outline of the face from the bottom of the chin to top of the forehead must be clearly shown.
• The length of the face in the photograph should be 25mm to 35mm. There should be a margin of 3mm to 4mm between the head and the edge of the photograph.
• Photographs submitted with an application become the property of the Government of Jamaica.
• No embossed seal should be affixed to the photographs.

Two (2) passport sized photographs certified by a Consular Officer, Justice of the Peace, Notary Public Commissioner of Oaths, Medical Doctor or Lawyer. The name of the applicant along with the name, number and signature of the certifying officer should be included. Certification should not be older than six (6) months. Photographs must be dated.

Af en toe krijg ik verzoeken met betrekking tot het verlengen van een Nederlands rijbewijs. Ik heb hier enige informatie van het RDW. Het is niet mogelijk om vanuit de USA Uw rijbewijs online te verlengen. Ik kan U wel eventueel voorzien van een digitale foto, maar kan deze niet naar het RDW uploaden.

Verlengen is niet altijd nodig. Heeft u naast uw Nederlandse rijbewijs ook een geldig buitenlands rijbewijs, dan hoeft u uw Nederlandse rijbewijs niet te verlengen. Als u op bezoek bent in Nederland, mag u met uw geldige buitenlandse rijbewijs rijden. Woont u weer in Nederland? Wissel dan uw buitenlandse rijbewijs weer om voor een Nederlands rijbewijs.

U kunt een Nederlands rijbewijs vanuit het buitenland verlengen onder de volgende voorwaarden:

Schengen visa photos varies in size among European countries. Most outside dimensions are 35×45, and the size of the face in regards to the outside dimension, varies in ratio as well.

The Schengen visa photo has a standard size requirement, however size requirements will vary among European countries, so check with the embassy of your port of entry where you apply for your visa. For example, the Netherlands and Germany require the same size visa requirements as for their passport photo. Please provide me with your port of entry when requesting for Schengen visa photos, so I can provide you with the correct size.

Background color is mostly white or gray, but some countries allow light blue to provide better contrast with individual hair color.

At PassportPhotoRVA, I provide you with printed and digital USA passport, citizenship, USCIS student OPT, immigration and DV lottery green card photos to the specifications as required by the accepting agency.

Printed passports photos are 2 x 2 inches (50 x 50 mm), sized such that your head is centered and between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (between 25 and 35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. On digital photos your head should be between 50% and 69% of the image’s total height from the top of the head, including the hair, to the bottom of the chin.

Uniforms, clothing that looks like a uniform, and camouflage attire cannot be worn in the photo except in the case of religious attire that is worn daily.

You may wear a hat or head covering, but you must submit a signed statement that verifies that the hat or head covering is part of recognized, traditional religious attire that is customarily or required to be worn continuously in public or a signed doctor’s statement verifying the item is used daily for medical purposes. Your full face must be visible, and your hat or head covering cannot obscure your hairline or cast shadows on your face.

For writing on the back of your photos, the best results are obtained to write with a fine sharpie permanent marker.
